Libby spoke to Rosie about her For All Kids Foundation. Since it's inception it has raised over 800,000 for disadvantaged youth. Rosie O'Donnell is regarded as one of the most philanthropic celebrities and sets a fine example of someone using their status and wealth to bring about good.

Thanks it's great to get a chance to talk about this it's really important.

We are all so proud of your weight loss, so what if we don't notice it, it's nice to see you finally making an attempt.

Rosie

...Thanks.

Libby

You must have gained a lot of weight after having your kids.

Rosie

Well, they're adopted so... I don't think that...Anyway we started the foundation because we truly believe that every child is a gift. Every child deserves a safe and supporting environment with opportunites for future self sufficiency ..

Libby

Is your family fat too?

Rosie

No, I wouldn't say... getting back to the foundation, we believe it is essential to provide for the fundamental needs of all children, The For All Kids Foundation, Inc. awards grants to help support the intellectual, social and cultural development of disadvantaged children throughout the United States.

Was it maybe stress?

Rosie

I beg your pardon?

Libby

You know stress, a bit of stress a pound of cheese...

Rosie

Uh, no I guess I had poor eating habits, but my goal is to feel healthy not fashionable and I don't see what that's got to do with....

Libby

Oh, that's good very smart. That way if you fail no one notices. That's good.

Rosie

Anyway, we have programs for child care, after-school and summer programs for inner-city youths, literacy, tutoring and mentoring programs for under-performing students,Healthcare services and wellness programs for low-income children, Prevention, treatment and cure of serious illnesses afflicting children and their families. Intervention and emergency shelters for families at risk of domestic violence...
